Lost dachshund discovered hiding from cold by runner in British countryside who carried the pup for miles until they met a farmer who knew just how to help the dog get home to his worried family

Living out in the country surrounded by farmland sounds like the literal dream doesn't it? All that peace and quiet. But all that silence can quite quickly come crashing down if you happen to be a pawrent with a pupper who has gotten lost. All there is around you is large swathes of forested land. Land that you would be lucky to find a hooman in let alone a small dog. But this is the tale of just how such a heroic act actually happened.

Our rescuer, like most, was not outdoors with the intention of reuniting a fur family. He was out for a 16 mile trail run. A feat of physical performance that most of us could only dream off, but what ended up actually happening was far more a feat of emotional performance than physical. For when this heroic hooman laid eyes upon a poor pup in peril, he knew that his goals no longer mattered. He had been chosen by a higher power to be put in the exact right place and time to find a dog that could have been lost furever in the thick shrubbery and grasses of the forest.

Together the pair ran for miles, hoping to find someone or something that might help them find the dog's family. It was obvious someone wanted their pedigree pup back, after all she still had her collar around her neck. The question was just whether this plucky pair could make it through the run without collapsing. Thankfully, they were met by a local farmer who managed to make some magic happen and reunite this sweet canine with her family.

    Here they are walking across the top of the mountain, out of breath and both of them tired. They can only hope that someone will appear to help them in this desolate area.

    Lo and behold someone had actually lost their dog. It was a friend of a friend of a friend of the farmer and before long a meet up was arranged to bring the pupper back to her family.
