Classroom Cats Ready to Learn, Lounge and Become the Teacher’s Pet

Nothing wakes up a classroom faster than someone spotting a cat outside the window. Except when the cat actually comes inside.

Forget whatever was on the lesson plan. There is now a kitty in class, and everyone has more important things to focus on.

Cats have a habit of showing up wherever they please, and schools are apparently no exception. Some wander into classrooms like they've been enrolled all semester, while others hang around campus until students basically accept them as classmates. We'd have paid a lot more attention in school if there was a chance a random feline might stroll through the door.

These cats don't seem remotely concerned about interrupting class either. They'll hop onto a desk, inspect someone's backpack, stroll past the teacher, and settle down for a nap while everyone else is expected to keep working.

Excuse us, but if the cat gets to sleep through math, why can't we?

Naturally, the students are usually thrilled. Suddenly everyone wants the seat closest to the new furry classmate. Even the kid who hasn't raised their hand once all year is volunteering to take the kitty to the office. We see what's happening here.

The cats seem pretty pleased with the arrangement too. A school is basically one giant building full of potential servants ready to offer pets and attention. Add dozens of laps, backpacks to investigate, and lunches that probably smell interesting, and they may never leave.

Back-to-school season can be rough, but getting surprised by a feline classmate would certainly make that early morning alarm hurt a little less.

We just hope attendance gives extra credit for having four paws and showing up without a hall pass.

It’s only right that the school cat gets a yearbook picture too. If they’re going to spend all year wandering the halls, sitting in on classes, and distracting students from their work, they’ve earned their spot alongside everyone else. Hopefully they remembered it was picture day and gave themselves an extra thorough grooming that morning. Now the only question is what superlative they get. Class clown? Most likely to nap through a lecture? Cutest student? The possibilities are endless.

Of course the cat fits in the school supplies bin. Pencils, notebooks, markers, glue sticks, one small feline… all the essentials are accounted for. We’re surprised cats aren’t included on every back-to-school shopping list by now. They may not be particularly helpful with homework, but they’re great at sitting on textbooks, stealing pencils, and keeping you company during study sessions. Just leave a little extra room between the folders because this particular school supply requires plenty of snacks.

Every school cat obviously needs their own tiny cat-sized backpack, and we’re not sure it gets much cuter than this. Just look at them all ready to head to class with their little bag strapped on like they have somewhere important to be. What are they carrying in there? Treats? A spare toy? Emergency catnip? Whatever it is, this kitty is officially prepared for the school day and already winning best dressed in our book.
