Negligent man keeps his German Shepherd caged and alone outside of the house in extreme weather, until a kindhearted neighbor decides to steal the dog at night and take it to an animal shelter: 'That’s called a rescue'

Some people are not meant to have pets.

Having a pet is not a game or some little thing to entertain you when you're bored. Animals are living, breathing creatures that need care and love. Raising a pet takes a lot of work, and not everybody is willing to do it. If you can't manage all the responsibilities of owning a pet, you shouldn¿t own it in the first place. For some people, having cats and dogs is nothing more than a caprice or a whim, and those are the people who end up hurting their pets the most, not necessarily out of meanness, but because they simply become negligent. 

In this case, that's exactly what happened. A man had a pet German Shepherd to which he paid little to no attention. He fed him and gave him water, but that was it. The dog was always alone with no one to play with and always outside, no matter how extreme the weather was. A neighbor tried to contact the authorities, but they told him there was nothing they could do legally, so one day he had enough. It was 2 AM on a freezing winter night, and the dog was there, alone outside. He got the pet out of its cage and drove 45 minutes to an animal shelter where he dropped it off, saying he had found it by the side of the highway. The next morning, when the negligent neighbor showed up to ask if he had seen his dog, he lied straight to his face and said the poor thing had probably escaped. 

Even though the neighbor felt a little guilty over stealing a dog and lying about it, he can be proud of himself for seeing an unfair situation and stepping up. He could have kept ignoring the situation, but instead, he chose to help that poor, defenseless animal and give it a chance at a more peaceful and better life with a kind owner who appreciates it for real.
