ExplorerOne6701 I'm assuming you have a copy of your lease? Does it specifically assign lawn care as a responsibility of the tenant? Your pictures only really become important if it was your job. If you don't have a copy of the lease, request it from them. (Not a generic blank one they wish you had signed, but a copy with your John Hancock on it - your lawyer will likely want to see that anyways).
LadyA052 In Texas, a landlord must provide an itemized list of deductions and damages if they keep any portion of your security deposit.

Retired_AFOL So, landlord claims nearly $10k in damage. Did you get an itemized accounting of this? Even if the grass is brown, not going to cost $10k. Something doesn't add up!!!

You can sue in small claims court and if they do not show you win by default ruling typically. That will clear your debt otherw

Assumption Due2711 P A walk-through was done. with the property manager the same day as the keys surrender. In the lease it basically says they have. nothing to do with the security deposit and just enforce whatever the landlord wants.

FamiliarAd8524 $6500 for grass in Texas? Must be Sergeant Major's Lawn. That's all that makes sense. AssumptionDue2711 P It truly seems absurd!
