Have you discovered the joys of gardening yet?

There is something very special about growing plants. You're creating life! Not just any kind of life, one that helps the environment, can sustain your health, and looks mighty pretty. When you first start gardening and your plants start to sprout more or produce fruit, it's the most rewarding feeling. You took a delicate living thing, that cannot speak or even move, and you cared for it so well that it felt safe and healthy enough to bloom. Maybe I'm getting to meta about it all, but when you prove to yourself that you can make a plant bloom, it helps you realize that you too can make yourself bloom. If you can make a plant bloom, there is nothing stopping you from blooming yourself!

Amateur gardening communities are always so wholesome, especially online. This is the kind of atmosphere that doesn't put anyone down. Every new and old gardener is going to be unsuccessful in raising some plants; that's just part of the process. You will never lose support from it! And that's why we love going through their wholesome posts.

Maybe I'm just getting older, but I'm about to say something that some might think is a hot take: Gardening is more fun than the club.
Sorry, not sorry! Maybe I'm just getting old, but I truly feel that way. “You can't compare those two things; they're so different!” Oh, but are they? Have you ever danced in your garden with your plants, singing along to your favorite tunes? It's magical! I recommend being barefoot too. There's a dress code for both places: The club requires painful heels and tight fighting clothes, and the garden requires a sun hat, secure shoes, and gloves. You meet lots of people through gardening, especially if you are part of a community garden. And you can leave home with someone you met there. I'd much prefer leaving home with a bushel of home-grown carrots, but whatever…
Anyways, you should try gardening. It's fun, wholesome, and you might just get some edible food out of it! If you live in the US, you know how hard that is to find these days… Do you want to know a little personal secret of mine? I live in the city, in a small studio apartment that has no backyard. It has a little plot of dirt out front, but the landlord said I couldn't plant there. Did I “accidentally” drop some wildflower seeds there? I don't know, but everybody has been loving those flowers. Also, nobody is stopping you from making a little garden out of the tree plot the city put in front of your house. The city isn't checking every single tree they plant. Go ahead and add some raised gardening beds and plant some tomatoes. You might have to share your harvest with the neighbors, but so what? Gardening is about community!
We recently stumbled across the reddit gardening page because, duh, there is a subreddit for that! There's a subreddit for anything. Anyways, this subreddit always puts a smile on my face. People are so proud of the plants they grow! Also, gardeners who are new to the world aren't afraid to ask any question. You learn and you grow in this community, and it warms the heart to see. Maybe it's the gardening community that will save humanity? After seeing this subreddit, I'm starting to truly believe that.
Will I be running a both at the local farmer's market any time soon? Well, no… But will I be more excited to see the size of carrots people are selling at the local farmer's market because, omg how did you do that?? YES!

My only goal is to one day have a garden that is so cozy that if I were a fairy, I'd want to live there. I'd love to have a little metal table with intricate designs on it and two chairs with candles and twinkle lights to enjoy a cup of tea while I stargaze. Does that sound like an actual possibility in the city? Anything feels possible in the gardening community!
