25 Baffling Design Choices Found in the Wild (September 25, 2026)

Do you need a bit of a design fail today?

There are so many things in life that go unnoticed. If we walked around noticing everything all the time, we would never get anything done. We'd be too busy noticing. The sky, the trees, the buildings, the feeling of the socks against our feet, the hair on our heads, the tongues in our mouths… we'd go crazy. The human brain is built to tune some of these out. We take things for granted so we can focus on the things that change. Our pattern-seeking brains are looking for repeatable sequences and chains of events. Many design elements become part of this. They fade into the background so we can move on with our lives. We don't question them. The ground we walk on- we only notice it if it's different. We don't sit around gazing at correctly spelled signs. We look at the ones that… go wrong. 

This collection is made up of all the things that go… noticed. They stick out because they're wrong. They're so very wrong. They tried and failed, and we're here to laugh at the wide chasm between success and failure. Why, you ask? Because it's part of human nature. As much as we're counting on things to go right, we relish it when they go wrong. Especially if it doesn't affect us personally. So this is a list of a bunch of design fails that left us scratching our heads and wondering just what happened here.
