‘Abandoned German Shepherd cried like a human’: Heartbroken pup saved and found furever home by rescue after 3 days of intense fear

While we often cover stories here of simple dog loving hoomans going all out to save the life of an abandoned doggo they came across, this story tells quite a different tale. It tells the story of a pup who was so fear stricken that no untrained hooman could get near to her. After being dumped in a bustling area of town, this doggo was subjected to a level of fear that is far greater than that of simply being left to her own devices in the middle of nowhere, compounding her fear and requiring an understanding and technical proficiency that most hoomans simply do not have.

The pawfessionals who were called out to help, Hope for Paws, are a rescue organization in California known both online and IRL as some of the best in the game. Their standard of care is second to none and their determination to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety and security of the puppers they save is outstanding and it is clear to see in this video. Their rescuee, Rain, had spent several days cowering behind a car in a busy part of town. Still reeling from the pain of being abandoned by her family while also battling with the extra fear of being in a fast paced unfamiliar space.

In most cases this is a recipe for disaster and could have very well led the panicked pup to do something irrational that could have gotten her injured. But with these people's love and care she was saved without incident and given the loving furever home she deserved in a matter of days once being scooped up off the streets.

Thankfully, this pupper did not have to spend too long on her own. She was spotted by many passers by but her fear stopped them from being able to approach her and help her. Leaving it up to the pawfessionals to get the job of rescuing her done.

While we did say she didn't wait long, there is no escaping the fact that even an hour on her own must have been terrifying. Let alone a period of time that equates to roughly 20 days in dog time.

With a whole heap of patience, burgers and love, the rescuers got to work to try and gently convince the scared pup to be leashed and walk towards her new life of love and freedom.

Finally in the care of the people who came to save her, Rain now gets to begin the heartwarming journey of coming back to herself and learning to be a happy doggo once more.

She tentatively took her first steps and with the rescuers' calming approach she was encoraged to climb into the cage they had set up for her.

Once back at headquarters the loving staff got to work giving Rain all the love, attention and care that she had been missing since she was abandoned. Ensuring that she would be as healthy as possible when someone would finally come along to adopt her.

Understanding that she was in good hands, Rain slowly began to release her tension and fear and replace it with calm and releif. After so much time living in complete uncertainty, she could finally be certain that she was safe at least for the time being.

And thanks to her brilliant attitude towards rehabilitation it did not take long at all for someone to come along and fall in love with this sweet girl and take her home to be a pawmanent member of their fur family. An overwhelmingly happy ending for a dog who deserved only the best from the beginning.
