Fairytales are special because they teach us things. They teach us about life, how to wonder, how to be creative and how to imagine a world outside our own. Even as adults, we can think of any fairytale we want. The world is our oyster, and there's no rules about daydreaming. Cats are basically out of a fairytale, and fall weather gives all kinds of whimsy.

When I was a kid I especially loved the season of autumn. I just loved the cloudy days, the lack of sun, and the crispness of the air. I loved the feeling of finally being able to put on a soft and warm sweater, to feel like the weather was comfortable again. It was usually still relatively sunny where I grew up, but I remember one day was very cloudy, exactly how I like it. And we had a different school day. We did pumpkin carving for hours on this special cloudy day. Something about it just felt perfect for me, and it's my quintessential memory of autumn as a kid.

For every majestic kitty gazing thoughtfully across a misty autumn landscape, there's another attacking a decorative pumpkin, launching themselves into a leaf pile, or occupying the exact blanket their hooman had planned on using. Cats have a wonderful talent for existing somewhere between enchanted forest familiar and ridiculous little guy. So pull on your favorite sweater, pour yourself something warm, and join us for a wander through a fairytale autumn filled with colorful foliage and whiskered whimsy.
