Cat pawrent gets global fame for crafting unique costumes, turning her tabby into the handmade Pokémon of your Halloween dreams

You couldn't ask for a more purrfect crossover if you're a nerdy cat pawrent. Cats, Pokémon, crafts, and Halloween all in one place? I must be in heaven!

I'm one of those people who loves the idea of crafts, but doesn't have the patience to follow through with it. Let alone making crafty costumes to put on my cats, who would rather go without tuna for a year than sit still enough for me to put them in a cardboard costume, let alone take a picture of them in it. But, it makes me appreciate the people who do it even more because I know how much effort it takes. It also reminds me that all cats are different - for example, mine are box-crazed little weirdos with a tendency to get the zoomies at the most inconvenient times, and others, like the one below, are chill with quite pawssibly anything.

So now we get to @pokemonbaddies beautiful, hand-crafted creations. Her purrfeclty patient tabby cat, named Leo, has risen to global internet fame because of her parents' passion for Pokémon and turning her cat into limited-edition pocket monsters! She even has a YouTube channel where she shows you how to craft your own cardboard Pokémon costumes for your felines at home. Like I said, I would love to, but my cats would probably rehome themselves if I attempted to make one for them.

With Halloween right around the corner, this cat pawrent could not have chosen a better time to show off her crafty costume-making skills. She may only have a few followers now, but I imagine that by the end of October, she'll probably have 10x the number of followers she started with. And even if she doesn't, I purrsonally love her content, as someone who grew up watching Pokémon on TV, collecting the cards, and also wishing my cat could use flamethrower like Charizard.

  • You have to admit that all of these creations are very impurressive, but the ones that impress me the most are the ones with the long, curved necks, like Lapras above. People don't realize how much of cosplay and costume making is math. You have to measure each individual piece correctly and assemble it in a way that it isn't too heavy to wear, but still makes your idea recognizable.   • For a Pokémon lover like me, this is simply incredible. For years in my childhood (and still kind of in my adulthood), I dreamed of being a Pokémon trainer. Traveling the world in search of new species, capturing them, bonding with them, training, and eventually becoming a Pokémon champion. This is probably the closest you'll ever get as a cat owner.
