The New York Post reported that Disney plans to cut jobs as a cost-cutting measure under its new CEO, Josh Damaro. It's wild to think that even in a company like Disney, which keeps growing bigger and bigger every year through new acquisitions, layoffs can still affect its employees. I guess Disney didn't become one of the richest companies in the world by paying its workers well (see the animators' strike in the Walt days), but they used to be a lot better about taking risks. They didn't put all of their eggs in the basket of multi-million-dollar live-action movies that were too big to fail. In the days of Michael Eisner, mid-budget movies let the company be more creative and avoid losing the house if one film flopped.     Do you think they did this to make the dress blue instead of silver so they could sell more blue Cinderella merchandise and avoid changing all their products to silver?
