Traveler in Istanbul comes across the most loving and cuddly street kitten that climbs into their lap: 'Istanbul cat distribution system tried to enroll me'

If the cat distribution system chooses you, no matter where you are in the world, you can't escape it.

They say that you don't choose your cat; your cat chooses you. And when you least expect it, a furball shows up in your life to fill you with love and cat fur.

The most wholesome stories are not about a person who went outside determined to find a specific type of cat. They are the ones where a kindhearted hooman found out that a kitten had unexpectedly stolen their heart. And it's even more lovely when that happens while you're away from home.

This person was traveling in Istanbul, walking down the street back to their hotel, when a tiny street kitten started following them around. They finally sat down together, and this kitten climbed onto their lap and started cuddling. Even though they couldn't bring the little kitty back with them, they started talking to a local rug retailer, who offered to look after the tiny feline. The kitty seemed to be acting as a paid employee, because this person even ended up buying a rug to take with them.

Istanbul is widely known for having hundreds of cats walking along the streets. Neighbors are used to seeing them, and most of the time they even make sure to feed them and keep an eye on the local ones. It's like heaven for cat lovers! That is to say, these cats are rarely alone or not cared for, which is why it's so cute and so special when they choose you. They don't actually need a single owner; they are free to do as they please, since they know someone will make sure to give them what they need. This kitty may not be traveling away any time soon, but she surely made some friends and left her mark on some hearts.
