I would assume that he would keep Nagini around because a small snake makes a much more compact animal sidekick than a huge Basilisk. Imagine trying to get that thing around town to help you do your evil bidding. It would be impossible, even for a powerful evil wizard.

I like Trelawney as a psychic because at least she makes incredibly specific predictions. I hate when you go to get your tarot cards read and they say something vague like, "Friendship is incredibly important for you" or "You're going through a transition in your life." Those things could apply to literally anybody at any time. Trelawney said exactly what she thought was going to happen, and she was actually right a lot of the time. If you go back and read the book, you'll see that this isn't the only prediction that she got right.

He is supposed to represent a provincial, middle-class, materialistic worldview. He doesn't like anything that's out of the ordinary. Even if Harry wasn't a wizard and there was something else unusual about him, Vernon would act the same way.

I am curious whether they'll include some of the more boring, academia-focused parts of the book in the new series. Maybe they won't even get far enough into the series to get to those installments of the series!
I'm one of those people who always liked the day-to-day school-centric parts of Harry Potter. I loved the Quidditch team drama; Oliver Wood is one of my favorite characters. I loved hearing about the characters' study habits and which classes they were taking. After all, these are school stories!

Fun fact: I dressed up as this "little detail" for my 21st birthday party, and it is by far one of the best costumes I've ever done. If you haven't seen the movie it's based on, I reccomend you do!

Dental technology in the UK has improved immensely over the past 20 years. I don't think I've ever seen a British adult or child with teeth this straight and white.

I am going to give the props department for the Harry Potter HBO Max show the benefit of the doubt and assume that the meal in this image is not the one from the big feast after the Sorting Hat ceremony. It looks like they're just eating breakfast before class, and I hope I'm right.
