We really made it Edit: Thank you all so much for the overwhelming love and support, insane really, I'm so thankful! Been crying a lot, been playing with Balou a lot. All of you elevated this new scary adventure into love and kindness, and I'm forever grateful Balou and I really did not sleep alone last night. And I was gifted a mattress, blankets, and some pillows today!!! So this night will be even cosier :)

Please stop awarding me now; donate or maybe even volunteer at your local homeless -or animal shelter or local library instead, please <3 If after that you'd still like to help Balou and me, feel welcome to send a DM.

Some people were asking why I didn't give him up when I became homeless. That's kinda why. He's more than 'just a cat' to me. Thank you again, all of you. See you in the morning.

scotti30 My boyfriend I just bought our first house two months ago and moved out of the c py basement apartment we were in. My 15 year old kitty passed in March and I'm devastated she doesn't get to see it because I know she'd love the sunlight and the yard. But I made a special spot for her

Godd3ssH3cate- H I yeah, first day in my apartment after homelessness | was so thrilled. My mom and siblings came over and I showed them around then we just sat down on the floor lol. It was a year before I could afford my pet fees but I recently got my cat back from his foster parents! (My best friend and her man.)

Kootenay-Kat I am so very happy for both of you - I sincerely mean that from the bottom of my heart. I work (volunteer) with the unhoused/marginally housed in my small town in Western Canada and sadly, I generally feel very pessimistic about whether what we volunteers do makes the slightest dent in the problem. But this reminds me that yes, sometimes there are big successes- thank you for contributing your story/photo.

Congrats!! We're wishing you well. Had a rocky year and thankfully my parents helped me get back on my feet. Cat is pictured still hesitant to come out from under the blanket in the aftermath of moving.

ReturnOfBane being homeless with cats is a nightmare. You lose access to shelters. I'm glad you made it out without having to surrender him.

NJayke Best thing about our fluffy pals is that they don't care how rich or poor we are. They really are our greatest friends. Congratulations to you both, brother. Cheers to new beginnings and bright futures!

see_chelles I remember this feeling. I was in my car for 6 months before landing a place. I was honestly so excited. I was also in denial a bit, and slept restlessly because I thought it was a dream. Took me a month to get used to things. Congratulations, OP. I hope this marks a wonderful new journey, and may you get much better rest tonight than I did my first night home
