Kind kids wake the neighborhood cat lady to tell her there's a kitten trapped in a car, and after hours of many neighbors working together, they manage to save the most unique-looking brown kitten

If there is anything that can make all people work together, it's itty bitty kittens.

In a world like ours, when the timeline is always full of clickbait and ragebait and a bunch of things that make us feel like there is no hope for humanity, this is the kind of story that we want to see. Uniquely adorable kittens being saved, and people of all ages being kind. It doesn't feel like too much to ask for. That's what the internet used to be about. It's what used to make it more fun. Before algorithms and AIs - when the internet was all about sharing funny cat memes and strange things that made people smile. 

Sometimes, it doesn't feel like there is too much that we can do to change the world and make it more pawsitive again, and then we remember… cats. We remember that no matter what madness takes over our timeline this week, among all the posts, there will be cats going viral. Cats always bring people together. We see that online all the time. And sometimes, we see that in the real world too. I can tell you from purrsonal experience, it was cats who brought me and my neighbors closer, working in shifts together to keep them all fed. And it was cats who brought the community in this story closer too - working for hours on end to save a kitten together.

  • This is the story that you tell people about when they tell you that there is no more hope for humanity. Get them off social media, tell them to stop reading all the rage-bait news, and show them this. A real-world story with real-world people - all coming together to do the right thing for a tiny kitten in need of help. And really, if there is anything that could bring people together like this, it really would be a kitten, wouldn't it? We are all so weak when it comes to kittens. If they weren't so lazy, they would end up bringing us world peace. But alas, they are. Lazy, that is. And even with that laziness, they manage to bring the best out of people.

  • Listen… there is always room for another cat. Look at your bed. Look at it right meow. There might be five cats on it, but we are sure that there are a couple of empty spots left on there for more cats. And you know what? With people like this, who already have five cats, we're sure that if, somehow, they are unable to find a home for this kitten, they will keep it. These are not the kind of people who would let a kitten live on the streets again, especially a hooligan kitten like this one.
