Girlfriend uses his boyfriend's card to order food, even though he told her to delete the card from her phone, she orders $30 worth of food almost every day: 'She’s saying I’m being unreasonable and that I can just pay the minimum payment'

So a few weeks back I (36M) deleted my credit card from the Uber Eats account my partner (36F) uses. To cut to the chase the spending was too much. Around £30 a time almost every weekday. I told her I couldn't afford to be paying so much every month and would be deleting my card from the account. Yesterday I got my latest statement and noticed that she

had re-added my card and there was a whole bunch of transactions to Uber Eats. I checked the actual UE account and there's pretty much McDonald's orders every day of around £30 going back to the day after I had removed my card. I've told her that I expect to be transferred the entirety in time for the payment to be made on the 20th.

She's saying I'm being unreasonable and that I can just pay the minimum payment. For clarity, she works from home, I don't. So, by the time I get back there's no packaging/evidence to indicate any deliveries have been made.

Update: So I've only gone home to grab some essentials and am not staying there temporarily. I've told her I'm not backing down and expect full reimbursement by the 20th or I will be reporting it, and have also explained that my colleague said she's fully prepared to give a statement that I was at work when the card was used if necessary.

I will be telling her to leave, but am biding my time to see whether she pays me first.

Anonymous_Sad_Person Time to report that card as lost or stolen along with every other card she has ever had access to. You two want to have a big talk about money, this is the kind of thing that ends relationships. NTA, she shouldn't treat you like an ATM. Honestly, I would just break up with somebody who blatantly stole from me like this.

MadCow113 She is stealing from you. I would be leaving her and not just asking for the money back. Nta

OriginalDanBlah She stole your credit card. I'd be breaking up AND calling police. Red flag dude

Lhasa ApsoSmile If she can't pay, she can't order. Why can't she make food at home? Or order better food with leftovers that you can stretch out?

IceRose81 NTA - you need to cancel your current card (the one that she knows the number for) and get a new one that she DOESN'T have access to. She deliberately re-added your card after you removed it from the account and is refusing to repay what she spent... you have a bigger issue than the Uber Eats spending if she feels this entitled to your income & expects you to cover expenses you haven't agreed to pay for.

ConstantTechnician 70 You need to dump this person, stat. Using your card (when you've clearly said she can't) is theft. Also, eating McDonald's every single day is incredibly bad for her, so let her be someone else's problem once she's the size of a house.

ATTACKANDDETHRONEHOG You can try to report the latest set of charges to the CC company as fraudulent since she added the card without your permission. But it's an uphill battle with you living together and having given previous permission. Try it anyway, and while you're on the phone with them lock the card.

Then you're going to have to move out and break up because there's nothing you can do to stop the thief you live with from stealing from you if you don't.

Probably_Fine_ This is relationship ending. It's actual theft. Never mind the disrespect, ignoring boundaries etc. NTA

Interesting_Feed_785 £200 a week on McDonalds that she's stealing from you - there's obviously much bigger problems at play here.
