The thing is, when you tell someone that no one would want to marry them, it's not really about the marriage or wedding per se. Many people don't even want ot marry! No, it's way worse. With a comment like that, you're basically telling someone that they are not worthy of being loved, that they don't deserve companionship, that they are destined to be alone; that they are either too much or too little to be partners with another person. Do you see how cruel that is? No one in their right mind would tell someone they love that they are not good enough, or that they are too much. And more importantly, a true friend would never think for a second to publicly use information from your private life as a weapon, much less if it's something that worries you or makes you feel insecure.

If it were me, I would definitely bail on her. Not only did the bride hurt and embarrass her, but she also dismissed her feelings and made everything about herself. Classic narcissistic behavior.
Those kinds of friends only bring problems and broken hearts. Trust me, I've broken up friendships over less, and it has nothing to do with not valuing friendship enough. Yes, friendship is important, and sometimes people have disagreements. But there's a difference between quarreling with a friend and them using you as food for their self-centered comedic act. I've had people in my life who didn't add up to it; they made it more complicated and problematic. I ended up cutting them off for my peace of mind, and that's the key part: a friend should be your refuge, not your enemy throwing stones at you.
