Are you a dog mom or dad with a rescue? Dog shelters around the U.S. are constantly saying how they are packed with canine companions looking for furever homes. It's honestly heartbreaking, but there are animal lovers out there helping them out! Some volunteer at shelters, some foster dogs, and some make sure to adopt only from shelters. And if you have ever adopted a rescue dog, you know that you can see how much they appreciate you.

Sure, dogs don't speak any human language, and they do things like rip up the sofa and eat your shoes, but us humans still connect with them in some inexplicably intimate way. It doesn't matter that they can't talk to us or tell us when they need to go to the bathroom; a dog parent just knows these things. It turns out that the chemical that gets released in women's bodies for their children when they become a mother to help them bond is the same chemical that gets released in a dog parent. You truly sync up on more than a routine level, but also on an emotional one.

Are we obsessed with dogs over here at Animal Comedy? Why, yes, of course we are. That being said, dogs are obsessed with us back. When you love a dog, it is an emotional connection like nothing else. They truly take over your whole heart. It is beautiful. And when you rescue a dog from a shelter, they make sure the rest of their life is spent showing you how much they love you. Pet parents recall adopting their fur baby from the shelters. These rescues don't just lick you and wag their tails; they also look at you with love in their eyes, and sometimes even a big smile across their face! That's right, dogs can smile now, and we're obsessed.

I mean, come on! Look at all these good boys and girls. You would have to be a dang fool not to see just how thankful these pups are. Anthropomorphizing is a thing we tend to do as a society, but so what? When it comes to giving your best fur friend a personality, who cares? You're going to love them anyways, and what does a stranger know about you and your pup? Nothing! You are the expert on your pup, and if you say they are smiling and wagging their tail at you because they are thanking you for adopting them, then that is exactly what they are doing!
