My furbaby not only sleeps on the chairs, but she also sleeps on my bed while I'm away. Every time I go into my bedroom to find something, I see her all curled up, sleeping there. If I make the smallest of noises, she wakes up and stares at me with sleepy eyes, like saying, “How dare you disturb my nap time, Karen.” Of course, once she's awake, she already feels offended because I had the nerve to enter my room, to find something mine, and interrupt her beauty sleep, so the second I leave down the stairs, you can hear from downstairs a noise that sounds like a stomp. It's her, jumping off the bed because, again, I woke her up, I offended her, and she can no longer sleep in such a hostile place, so of course she has to leave the premises as swiftly as possible and find a bed that is suitable for her needs. Oh, boy, is she dramatic…

It doesn't stop at chairs, couches, or beds; oh no, cats will jump and sit on top of anything they want. I used to have a cat that was very fond of jumping on top of the fridge. Yeah, that's right, the fridge. Why would she do that? I have no idea. One would think that she would find a more comfortable place to sit, but nope, she went there. My theory on what she used to do is that the top of the fridge was tall. I've read that cats like high places because it helps them get away from all the chaos; besides, it's easier for them to claim their territory from a high ground and thus have control over their lands. Mind you, I'm talking about a house cat who had never been anywhere remotely similar to a jungle or forest. Seems like you can take the cat out of the wild, but not the wild out of the cat…
