Woman hears desperate cries while walking her dog and rescues a tiny kitten who ends up falling for her fiancé instead

There's nothing quite like the betrayal of a cat choosing someone else as their favorite person. You feed them, clean their litter box, buy them expensive toys, and spend half your paycheck making sure they're happy. Meanwhile, someone who barely lifts a finger gets all the cuddles. The audacity!

You could spend hours trying to win over a shy kitty, only for them to march straight past you and curl up on someone else's lap. Apparently, all that hard work means nothing when a cat has already made up their mind.

One cat lover recently experienced this firsthand after an unexpected rescue mission during a routine dog walk. They were outside their apartment complex when they heard a kitten screaming and spotted something darting underneath the parked cars.

After bringing their dog inside, they returned to investigate and discovered a frightened kitten hiding beneath someone's van. Luckily, they already had a cat at home, so they grabbed some wet food and headed back outside. The little kitty wasn't particularly interested in making things easy. She kept running between cars, forcing her rescuer to follow her around the parking lot before finally getting close enough to offer food.

Once she started eating, they carefully picked her up, expecting a struggle. Surprisingly, the kitten didn't fight back and allowed herself to be carried indoors. We can only imagine the relief of finally catching that little escape artist. Trying to rescue a frightened kitten from underneath parked cars sounds like quite the workout, especially when your original plans involved nothing more exciting than walking the dog.

Back inside, the rescuer fed the kitten and set up a comfortable spot for her in the bathroom. Their fiancé was at work, completely unaware that another furry family member had joined the household.

After everything the rescuer had done, you'd think the kitten would be purrmanently attached to their side. Nope! The little troublemaker decided the fiancé was her favorite person instead.

The rescuer admitted to being a little jealous, which is completely understandable. Imagine doing all the work and watching someone else collect the cuddles!

Two weeks later, the kitten, now named Shadow, is settling into her new home alongside the family's resident orange cat, Tigger. Shadow might have questionable taste in favorite humans, but at least she knows a good home when she finds one!

Shadow went from hiding under cars to having an entire household of staff waiting on her every need! She's got two humans to serve her meals, provide endless cuddles, and make sure she's comfortable at all times. Plus, there's Tigger, her new feline coworker, who can hopefully show her how to run the place. Give her another week and she'll probably be demanding breakfast in bed. Welcome to the good life, little queen!

This little girl just got the biggest life upgrade! One minute she's hiding under cars in a parking lot, crying for someone to help her, and the next she's got a warm home, plenty of food, and two humans to spoil her rotten. Not to mention a new kitty sibling! Shadow probably has no idea how lucky she got, but we have a feeling she's going to enjoy every second of her new life.

Rescuing a little void is basically like bringing home your very own tiny piece of the night sky! Just look at those adorable black kitties with their big eyes and endless cattitude. We're so glad Shadow's cries were heard by someone willing to help her. Now this sweet little house panther gets to spend her days being spoiled instead of hiding under cars. Talk about a pawsome rescue!
