This is exactly what I'm talking about! Is not nice to feel like we can't enjoy the holidays with our families because of our poor planning, so we have to find a way to prepare. It's not too late yet! I, for one, am spreading out all of my Christmas shopping so I won't spend everything in one sitting. And there are always things we can do to avoid overspending on things we don't need. I'm making a list of my priorities, and I'll leave the rest to figure out by itself. It's maybe not the best strategy, but it's the best I can do at this time of the year.

Taking money from our savings almost feels like a crime, but guess what, they're called 'emergency funds' for a reason. This month and last month, I had a few unexpected expenses, and I was so grateful to my past self for setting money aside for these kinds of happenings. Long story short, my computer broke, and I had to send it to get repaired. I had almost gone through my entire paycheck already, and I had no way of affording a brand new computer. Besides, my entire work and almost my whole life are on that hard drive; I couldn't lose it. Thankfully, it was relatively easy to fix, but I had to take a little bit out of my savings to pay for the repairs. Obviously, emergency funds work and are good for a reason.
