This morning, T.J. Lane was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of aggravated murder following the shooting at Chardon High School in Ohio in February. Arriving at the court in a blue button-down shirt, Lane continuously displayed troubling behaviors throughout the proceedings, such as removing his shirt to reveal an undershirt with the word "KILLER" written across it and visibly smirking as grieving family members spoke and even as the judge delivered three consecutive life sentences with no chance for parole. But the ugliest moment of the day came when Lane was given an opportunity to give a statement, at which point he ignored his lawyer's advice and imparted a crude message to the victim's families, followed by giving them the finger.
