Beep Boop Beep! This DIY Will Help You Turn Your Old VW Bus Into R2D2!

Who says you can't teach an old bus new tricks? Cesar Aguzzoli turned his old VW bus into a brand new R2 unit, and documented the whole process on Instructables. Follow along and you too could be the proud owner of an R2D2 bus.

Step One: Acquire a VW Bus

This is the easy part. The only real requirement is to use a white one. We're off to a strong start.

Step Two: Plan Your Design

Aguzzoli first tried to directly match R2D2's design to the bus using a modified papercraft model, but it just didn't look right, so he decided to recreate it from scratch to better fit the model.

Step Three: Uh...be Good at Photoshop?

Once R2's look had been finalized, Aguzzoli used CorelDraw and Photoshop to create the design and ready R2 for printing.

Step Four: Printing!

Pretty easy step here, just head to your local print shop and get your design printed out on vinyl suitable for wrapping.
