Sometimes we see a building and we truly admire the detail and effort put into them by the architecture. And then you see a building shaped like an animal (and being animal lovers) you go ecstatic and will now be planning your next few trips around the world just to actually see these places up close! (Okay maybe that's just us!)
The building is designed by Tomi Ungerer and Ayla Suzan Yöndel in 2011. The building is actually a kindergarten and its main purpose is to turn on children's imagination and bring more fun in their daily life. Mission accomplish?
The next 2 buildings are from a small town in New Zealand, called Tirau. These Dog and sheep shaped buildings were both constructed in the 1990s. The Dog Building is their local i-SITE Visitor Centre, while the Sheep Building has a simpler role - a wool and craft shop. An interesting way to get people to wander in and see whats happening!
One of the oldest animal-shaped buildings, built in 1931 by the local farmer, Martin Maurer. He used to sell ducks and duck eggs, so he took his marketing skills to a whole other level. He created a shop shaped like a duck to simply promote his business.
Surprisingly this building is made completely out of wood. The building was named Lucy by its, designer James V. Lafferty. Currently, Lucy is a small museum of her own history.
"Shrine to Anglers", located in the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, is another museum.
Sweet Willy, might be considered the biggest/ tallest Beagle in the world. He is a 30-feet tall dog shaped building, located in Dog Bark Park Inn Cottonwood, Idaho. The designers Dennis J. Sullivan and his wife, Frances Conklin, built Sweet Willy as a way to host the visitors. Basically making it a bed and breakfast.
The Giant Koala is one of Australia's impressive Tourist Complex's. Placed in Dadswells Bridge, midway between the Victorian towns of Stawell & Horsham. In case you're in the area!
