Model and "it girl" Alexa Chung defended herself to the Instagram community Monday after fans protested a pic of her spindly stems and compared her to "thinspo."

"Hi, I am here. I can read. Ok everyone thanks for the teen angst discussions. People are different sizes. I'm not trying to be thinspo for anyone (sic). I am now making this acct private. Byyyyyeeee."

Tumblr and Pinterest have recently attempted to crack down on thinspo posts; here's hoping this little round of negative publicity prompts Instagram to follow suit. [ohnotheydidnt]
