Volunteering at the Red Cross evacuation location is a great thing to do. Showing up in flats with no arch support is a bad, bad idea. You will be walking around on pavement and other hard surfaces for several hours as you help put up cots, show people around the facility, and carry all manner of heavy things. Your feet, ankles, and various joints in your body will not be excited when you wake up the next morning. It will be incredibly difficult to even get out of bed. #LFMF
