Do you work to live, or live to work? I'd say most of us, especially those working in service or hospitality jobs in our late teens/early twenties, will tell you that we're just working for the money. The job itself doesn't matter (who wants to be a checkout chick for the rest of their life anyway?). But some bosses take things too seriously, and mistakenly think that you'd put the job first over other things, like Thanksgiving with your family or your father's funeral. Seriously. With nightmare bosses like these, quitting seems pretty reasonable, and that's exactly what these people on Reddit have done. I applaud them for their good timing.
