Iran Launches Its Own YouTube

In its latest effort to find alternatives to global Internet services like YouTube, the Iranian government has unveiled its own video-sharing website Mehr in full adherence with its interpretation of Islam. While many Iranians have been known to bypass filters to access YouTube or use other Farsi-centric video streaming sites like Aparat, Mehr is the first state-sponsored venture into online media in the country.
