Weird Lawsuit of the Day: Former Model Sues Over Mad Men Opening Credits
1960s fashion model Gita Hall May has filed a lawsuit against Lionsgate Entertainment for using her likeness without permission in the opening credits of the AMC drama series _Mad Men_. Although the show premiered six years ago in 2007, the complaint asserts May was only informed of her image's placement last year, which was lifted from a 1950s Revlon ad for Satin-Set hairspray without her consent. May is seeking monetary compensation for the use of her likeness in the title sequence, which won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Design in 2008.
