Today marks the fifth anniversary of Apple's iOS App Store launch. Since launching in 2008 with just 500 applications to choose from, the digital software distribution platform has played a crucial role in paving the road for today's app culture, now boasting over 900,000 apps ranging from useful productivity tools to time-wasting video games. In celebration of its anniversary, the store is giving away five applications and five games for free, including Barefoot World Atlas, Traktor DJ, Badland and Where's My Water. A full listing of the free apps is available on iTunes.
