  Back in 2014, Morgan Freeman actually took beekeeping up as a hobby and shared his newfound hobby on 'The Tonight Show' starring Jimmy Fallon. Since then he has had more than 26 beehives imported to his ranch! The ranch has turned into the ultimate paradise for bees, Freeman feeds the bees sugar and water and has help planting bee-friendly magnolia trees, lavender, clover, etc.

  As part of his interview with Jimmy Fallon, Freeman talked a bit about his reasoning behind his hobby turned lifestyle of beekeeping. "There is a concerted effort for bringing bees back onto the planet…We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation..."

  And even more amazing, Freeman revealed that he has never put on the bee suit or hat and hasn't been stung yet! Freeman added that he only feeds the bees and has no intention of harvesting honey or disrupting the hives.

  Why you should help and how

  An effective and easy way for you to help the bees is to plant flowers that bees like in your yard/garden. Flowers such as echinacea, crocus, hyacinth, calendula, and others. Bees pollinate a majority of the fruits, nuts, and vegetables we are eating, and without them, the human race would be on the verge of extinction. It's important that all of do our part in helping out! Thank you, Morgan Freeman, for helping save our planet!
