Fantastic Beasts Is Going to be "At Least" a Trilogy Starting in 2016
Warner Bros. have announced plans for JK Rowling's Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to debut on the big screen as a trilogy, with films in 2016, 2018, and 2020, and there's a possibility that we may see even more in the series:

The films will be written by Rowling herself alongside her previous Potter team, and bring back director David Yates of the last four Harry Potter films.
