It’s been a week of learning in America. The president elect learned what, exactly, the president does for a living (like hiring a White House staff). The outgoing president learned that that he’s got a full plate of handholding to do over the next few months. And Late Night’s Seth Meyers learned that he’s got to give President Trump ”a fresh start.”
How’d that go?
In last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers' “Closer Look” segment, Meyers tries to do just that, before saying goodbye to that fresh start mere minutes later. From the assessment of protest signs to Trump giving a white nationalist a fat promotion, Meyers tears through the weekend fast and funny. Though, he seems to be on the same page as CNN’s Ana Navarro, who, when asked about the Steve Bannon hire, replied, “Do you have a match so that I can set my hair on fire?”
Ew, boy. It’s going to be a long life.
