Benedict Cumberbatch is officially the king of photobombs.
At the Golden Globes on Sunday, Margaret Cho was introduced as the latest member of the Hollywood Foreign Press. She dressed up like a North Korean reporter for “Movies Wow” magazine and posed for a quick photo with Meryl Streep (taken by Michael Keaton).
But then boom: Cumberbatch!
He pulled the same move on U2 at last year’s Oscars.
After the stunt, things got a bit more serious as Hollywood Foreign Press President Theo Kingma came out on stage and received a standing ovation for this statement on free speech.
“As international journalists we understand the freedom of artistic expression. It is not only an integral part of the American fabric, but a beacon that is reflected across the globe,” he said. “Together we will stand united against anyone that will repress free speech. Anywhere, from North Korea to Paris.”
