After eighteen long years, the Dragon Ball franchise is returning to television with an all new series called Dragon Ball Super.
The show will follow the events of the film Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ in "the aftermath of Goku’s fierce battle with Majin Buu, as he attempts to maintain earth’s fragile peace." It will be overseen by the franchise's original creator, Akira Toriyama, who, according to the show's producer, has "developed a plot that’s not only a dream come true for Dragon Ball’s millions of fans, but one that will foster in a new generation of viewers." Dragon Ball Super premeires this July in Japan, though there's no word yet on when the show will come to the rest of the world.
