A lot of things came out of the Aug. 6 GOP Debate/Trumptacle. One of them is the hashtag #periodsarenotaninsult.
After FOX News moderator Megyn Kelly asked Donald Trump about the way he talked about woman, Trump took it personally, going on a bit off an assault. It culminated in him saying the following in an interview with CNN's Don Lemon Aug. 7.
"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes," Trump said. "Blood coming out of her wherever."
It has been very difficult for most to think he meant anything other than Kelly was menstruating during the debate and took it out on him.
Cut to: Femsplain founder Amber Gordon giving Trump some information Aug. 8.
hey @realDonaldTrump i just got my period

She followed it up by coining a hashtag.
After that, it spread like wildfire. Twitter users tagged Trump about their own menstrual cycles and their thoughts on his campaign in general.
@realDonaldTrump I've been bleeding for two days and my brain is STILL working better than yours. #periodsarenotaninsult

In many ways, and for many different groups of people, Trump's campaign is the gift that keeps on giving.
