Echolocation of the Day: Scientists Have Created an Image of What a Dolphin's Echolocation Looks Like

For the first time ever, scientists have created an image of what echolocation looks like to a dolphin. Using a tool called a Cymascope, the scientists recorded the vibrations bouncing back from the dolphin's echolocation sounds and created two-dimensional images which they compiled into a 3D image with a computer. 

This blobby man is what they got from a human underwater. Actually the image on the left below is what they got. 



The blob-man is an enhanced image of the original data collected. Good thing dolphins can open their eyes underwater.
