One clever enterprising fellow in Brooklyn decided to make the best of winter storm Jonas over the weekend and put up a listing for a shabby-chic igloo on airbnb: "dripping with ingenuity and alt-lifestyle aura lays this Snowpocalypse’s most desirable getaway" for only $200 a night. The igloo boasts room for two, air conditioning, a bathroom (???), and a washer + dryer (???). If the bathroom and laundry facilities are just nature, prepare for a bad review from me, sir.


If you're hoping to spend the night in the cozy den, I've got bad news. Airbnb removed the igloo's listing, but sent a cheerful message to the lister:

Hi Patrick,

My name is Dustón and I work with the Airbnb Trust and Safety Team. I am contacting you regarding your new listing the “Boutique Winter Igloo for 2.”

We are happy to see that you guys are busy and having fun during the Blizpocalypse. Unfortunately, your igloo, while very well constructed, has failed to meet our occupancy standards and has been removed from search results.

Whomp whomp. They offered him $50 in credit for his troubles, which seems like a great deal for Patrick. Perhaps he'll be able to escape the aftermath of Jonas somewhere a little warmer.
