A 22-pound chunk of butter was found in an Irish bog. It is estimated to be around 2,000 years old. Bog butter is a thing, according to Atlas Obscura. Before butter was preserved with added salt, people would bury it in a peat bog to preserve it. This is speculated to be one of the earliest examples and it is STILL EDIBLE.  Of course plenty of people had something to say about that:
