With its gaudy appearance and bold stance on top of a leaf, one might think that this tiny metalmark moth would make easy prey for a small predator like a jumping spider.
In one of the most ancient instances of monoculture, these Macrotermes termites cultivate gardens of Termitomyces fungus as a form of external digestion, enabling the break down plant lignin for their consumption.
