"Our poor mail carrier has been dealing with this for a month!" Sherry Michaels wrote Monday on Facebook, sharing a video of the bird running after Bryne's USPS truck on Tacoma Drive in Waukesha, per ABC News. The bird follows the truck from house to house, stopping next to mailboxes as Byrne delivers letters. The worker is trying his best to be respectful of his stalker because, after all, "it's Thanksgiving."
"He didn't pay me any attention at all in the first couple of months," said mailman Jeff Byrne. "He's acquainted himself quite well with the truck, and now he's started to follow me." Byrne said the turkey's attraction started during the summer. He also said he's been told the mail turkey is a male. Perhaps he's waiting for a love letter.
