Hi SJB I likes the fried but I not want to be on Tv as the 1000 pound lady. So healthy eating and has much exercise as my body can do. i is the bad influence making my boiz eat health and do exercise too. You is young now, but things catches up with you after 40, maybe try the diet change now so not such a shock later ;) luv TheCat * kitteh kisses & hugs*

Hi SJB Hows U today? I has a happy. Resisted the urge to buy lard. I know I would go through a pound a meal if I did not stop myself. Why does fried food seem so much more appealing than steamed? I am substituting grilling on the BBQ, with no sauce and no butter, most days. Made Pizza with no oil and fat reduced cheese today. Was delicious. I think the boiz did not even realize the lack of fat. I tries to cook lean but my heart [and stomach] want fried food and cream. Luv TheCat *hugs & nosie kisses*

Hi SJB Sounds like Sunday dinner to me, the way my Great Grandma use to make it. She was from the States. She made the best fried chicken. Soak in buttermilk overnight and double coated. Was tender and moist with a crisp crunchy coating. Then the creamy mashed potatoes with saucepan milk gravy, and a separate plate for the corn on the cob. Some times she made flavored butter for the corn. My favorite was the chive and bacon version. I has trained under her and have all the recipes written down. Thx fur reminding me of the good memory. I quit making those ones when I became health concious. I think is time to buy some lard and revive the old ways. luv TheCat *hugs & nosie kisses*

That's good. New Orleans is a nice place to visit in the day anyway but it doesn't seem like a place I would want to live in. But it was great working with Habitat. How bad did you guys get hit by the storms?

Well I've visited New Orleans a couple times over Spring Break. First time I was there, I was with Habitat for Humanity.
