bad news. my darling Kato is in the beginning stages of kidney failure. it's been tough and there isn't anything that can be done. hope you're well.

he's doing a bit better today. no more conehead, at least. he is on medication for the pain. can't keep food down, but he's drinking water and resting in a cozy spot. he seems perkier than yesterday. thanks for your prayers =^..^=

Kato has taken a very scary turn...it looks like his pancreatitis has returned, so we're off to the vet in an hour. please think positive thoughts for us

oh noooo! faceboooook! I don't think I'm ready to make the leap! kitty's toe is healing quickly. he's not liking the cone but he doesn't fight it. I take it off when he sleeps and so he can groom himself. a haiku: cat in a cone head // a truly pathetic face // it's for your own good !! enjoy your afternoon

ah, I'm not on facebook! still holding out. kato managed to cut his toe (have no idea how), wouldn't stop chewing it and it became infected. he has to wear a cone when I'm not around. you have not seen a sad, pathetic face 'til you've seen a cat in a cone... thanks for the update on your goings-on! happy spring =^..^=

it is technically spring here but there is over a meter of snow on the ground so it doesn't feel like it. i did see some ducks and geese flying overhead, which was heartening. i have a vague memory of a poem called "wild geese" by aileen fisher that my grade 2 teacher read to me so very long ago. wish i could read that poem again. how are you?
