Happy Tuesday, I Can Has-ers! We're here today to introduce you an extra special guest, the Manul or Pallas's cat! They has everything you love about cats, and more! They're fluffy, silly, and they love to make crazy faces. What's not to love? They even use their tails as little paw warmers in the snow so their feet don't get cold!
These kitties are known for their fluffiness and their extra expressive faces. The pics below are pawsitively hilarious with all the silly faces they caught on camera. Who knows what they were looking at, but we're ready to give them an Oscar, just based on these pics. They look like they'd be good sidekicks, but unfortunately, they're not meant to be housebroken. Why friend-shaped if not friend? We'll have to settle for looking at them through these pics and at the zoo. You want one too, right?
When they are excited or scared, they make a sound much more like the yelp of a small dog than any typical cat sound. Maybe that's what this kitty is doing in this photo. He looks surprised or scared of something, for sure!
Pallas' cats prefer to hide and sleep during the day and hunt at dusk, dawn and in the night hours. They spend the days in shadowy crevices, caves and burrows dug by other animals.
Pallas's cats are on the endangered species list, although on a very low priority. A short breeding season and impacts on their environments have made their numbers dwindle.
Pallas's cats are known to be very aggressive and territorial. Kittens were found to be hissing at other kittens before they could even open their eyes to see them!
Pallas's cats prefer to live in solitary. They're not good with other animals, and definitely aren't meant to be trained for a household! Shame, though, they'd be super cute pets!
