All The News From Marvel Studios' Phase 3 Lineup
President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige took to the stage today to announce the lineup for Marvel's next phase of superhero movies. Was it in direct response to DC's announcement earlier this month? We'll let you be the judge.
Here's all the information we have about the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward.
Captain America: Civil War, May 6th, 2016The Civil War rumors have finally been confirmed. Iron Man will go toe to toe with Captain America in the same year Batman and Superman are duking it out. Who'll win in the box office? Your guess is as good as mine.
Doctor Strange, November 4th, 2016We're nowhere closer to confirming a lead actor for Marvel's Doctor Strange which is probably why it was pushed back from July to November. Personally we hope the rumors are right and it's this guy:
Guardians of the Galaxy 2, May 5th, 2017Director James Gunn is back with his bunch of A-Holes earlier than we expected. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 jumped up from July to May. Will Drax finally get his hands on Thanos? Will we hear the Awesome Mix Vol. 2? Until we know more, we'll just leave this here:
Thor: Ragnarök, July 28th, 2017Feige wanted you to know that Ragnarök means "the end of all things". This classic Thor-yline pits the God of Thunder against forces that will bring Apocalypse to Valhalla. Whether or not Loki will continue to be loved by all, remains to be seen, but the odds are in his favor.
Black Panther, November 3, 2017Along with Ant-Man and Doctor Strange, we're getting another new Avenger, one that many fans think is long past due. T'Challa aka Black Panther is the King of Wakanda, a technologically advanced African country. With super speed, agility, strength and beyond average intelligence, he's a fantastic addition to the team.
Actor Chadwick Boseman (42) will first appear in Captain America: Civil Warm, but whose side he takes is still up for contention. Marvel released this promo image along with the news:
Captain Marvel, July 6, 2018Marvel's first female superhero movie will come a year after DC's Wonder Woman. Carol Danvers is an Air Force officer and security chief imbued with superpowers after getting a Kree blood transfusion (just like Coulson in SHIELD). No word about who will play Captain Marvel, but the internet seems to like Katee Sackhoff for the role:
Inhumans, November 8, 2018Inhumans tells the story of a group of primitive-humans who gain superpowers after being experimented on by aliens. After forming a society of their own, they occasionally help other characters in the Marvel Universe.
Inhumans will exist in the same Galactic Universe as every othe Marvel property so a cameo from Star-Lord or even Captain Marvel doesn't seem out of the question. Also worth noting is it's release date, squarely in between the two part Avengers: Infinity Wars.
Avengers: Infinity Wars Pt. 1 & 2: May 4, 2018/May 3, 2019The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building to this conclusion. The team will have grown significantly so dividing the dozens of heroes into two teams, might be the order of the day. Either way, we can't wait to see what happens when all six Infinity Gems are brought together.
