The UK High Court's recent mandate to ISPs to block users' access to file-sharing site The Pirate Bay seems to have backfired in the short term, driving record traffic to The Pirate Bay yesterday.

"Thanks to the High Court and the fact that the news was on the BBC, we had 12 MILLION more visitors yesterday than we had ever had before," a Pirate Bay insider told TorrentFreak.

The Pirate Bay is using the additional attention to teach people how to circumvent the blocks before ISPs implement the ban in the coming weeks.
