In September 2011, Colorado-based artist Heather Sitarzewski began making daily pop culture bento box lunches for her son, theming the meals around characters from video games, cartoons, movies and more. Hosted on the blog Lunchbox Awesome, she said she enjoys making bento boxes because she gets to start off her days tapping into her creative side. Though the blog went on hiatus in 2012, Sitarzewski has brought it back this year.
