I think before you go to the trouble, you need to TRY it first. Some stores carry it, especially this time of year. Or, I think if you go to Lefse Time, you can buy it online. To me, it's more like a bread product. It's not sweet at all. That is why a lot of people (like me) like brown sugar in theirs. It would be good dipped in gravy too. Potatoes and gravy!! But it takes a long time to make, plus you need the right tools, and a good Lefse grill, which is in the $100 range. You almost need to watch somebody make it... or maybe watch a video. Requires a little creativity! I've had a couple people I've taught myself. When I first learned, my Mother-in-Law requested that all the female members of the family come to her house to learn how to make it. She didn't want the tradition broken. Being the oldest female family member, I kind of resented being forced into learning this. But now, after a few years, guess who is the ONLY ones making it? My husband and I. Well, we are the ones with the biggest kitchen, and we have more time then the younger ones, so that is the reason. But my husband loves it so much that I almost have to put a lock and key on it so we have some for the holidays!! Most people either like it or hate it. We have a lot of Norwegians in the area, so it is very popular around here.
