Well, it's official—your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is back, and this time he's getting a Brand New Day. No, seriously, that's the actual title of the next Spidey movie, announced at CinemaCon with a fancy little logo and everything: Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Now, if that name sounds familiar, it's probably because you've read the comics—or at least heard fans screaming about them online. Brand New Day was the infamous storyline where Peter Parker basically made a deal with the devil (Mephisto confirmed!) to erase his marriage to Mary Jane. Yep. That happened. Comics are weird.
So does this mean Tom Holland's Spidey is about to start making shady multiverse deals to fix his life? Who knows! But considering the end of No Way Home left Peter totally alone and starting from scratch, it makes a lot of sense.
Sony didn't spill any casting or story details yet, but just that title alone is enough to get the theories flying faster than Spidey swinging through Manhattan.
Strap in, web-heads—it's about to get complicated.
