Woman Allegedly Dumps Her Ex-Boyfriend's Mother's Ashes into River in Viral Tik Tok

How far would you go to get back at a cheating partner? Taking revenge on someone who has wronged you has the potential to be cathartic and worthwhile, but it can also go way too far. Childlike retaliation like egging someone's house or car is generally accepted as harmless, but when it veers into more permanent destruction of property, or worse, that's when things get controversial.

One Tik Toker tested that question of how far is too far when she posted a video of her throwing her cheating ex-boyfriend's mother's ashes into a river. Yes, you read that correctly. His mother's ashes into a river. The Tik Toker named Sara (@starringsaraa) brewed up a great deal of controversy with this post, with commenters deeply questioning the ethics of her actions. Commentors alluded to Sara getting haunted by the ghost of this woman, saying she went way too far, and that they wanted to fight Sara for her actions.

The story escalated when Twitter user Tamorah Shareef Muhammad (@ModestyQueen19) posted a news article reporting a woman committing the same act of disposing of an ex-boyfriend's mother's ashes in a lake and getting arrested for it. Muhammad captioned the headline, "It's not a joke, and it wasn't made up."

As dramatic as this development was, these two incidents were not the same. The Texas woman arrested for disposing of her boyfriend's ashes is not the same person as the woman who posted the Tik Tok of her allegedly doing the same. From the other Tik Tok videos on Sara's account, one can better see that she and the woman, named Augustine Gladney, look very different. Also, based on her other content of prank and comedy videos, it's safe to assume that her ashes video is similarly fake and intentionally controversial to generate buzz.
