Meet Wang Zi and Xiong the beautiful red pandas from Jiangbei. These awwdorable red pandas are always down for a snack! Aren't we all! On the menu today we have some super delicious super cronchy looking carrots. Oh, yes. Cronchy, cronchy carrots. We usually go for a nice crisp cucumber ourselves, but these red pandas are on to something with the carrots!
Red pandas, like giant pandas, are bamboo eaters native to Asia's high forests. Despite what you may have heard or know of, red pandas are not bears! Turns out, they're not racoons either. Genetic research placed red pandas in their own family altogether! Studies of their evolutionary history show that red pandas are an ancient carnivore species and are probably most closely related to skunks, raccoons and weasels. Via nationalzoo.si.edu
